Community Engagement at Centro is intentional, centering our heritage in creating opportunities for relationship building and healing.
Heart Santuario
This is a bilingual space where participants learn/heal from/with the support of ancestral knowledge. A partnership between Despertar del Camino Sagrado and Centro, HEART Santuario includes monthly meetings for those across Wisconsin and beyond, who work side-by-side with Latinx communities to promote healing from ethno-racial trauma.
Zumba and Movement Classes
Dance is healing! Zumba is a combination of dance moves and aerobics in which physical movements follow the rhythm of popular songs, uplifting the heart and connecting you to the rhythms of bachata, merengue, cumbia, salsa and reggaeton. Come, join us and center your well-being.
MERCADITO
Mercadito offers an open and healthy place where the community can share their cultural heritage and culinary traditions, breaking barriers and challenges community members face when accessing healthy foods in a place where smells are mixed with a sense of home and security.
PLAY & LEARN
Play and Learn Provides a learning environment for families where children learn early math, literacy, and social skills through play and caregivers learn about child development, the importance of play, and parenting skills. This supportive space is made possible with the partnership of MMSD.
